Their classroom has no windows, and its walls are crumbling. The blackboard is so old, chalk disappears into stains that look like recently dripped wax. This is not a case of poverty. Nigeria's education budget is $1.97 trillion. |

How much better are the public schools in Lagos or the rest of the nation. I hope we as a nation don't come to regret participating or looking away for three decades while government officials loot the country. In fact many people on this forum benefitted from stolen funds directly and/or indirectly. Now we sit here and complain about lack of infrastructure. |

Exactly the type of school I graduated from, but the last two years were okay because Mu'azu Aliyu Babangida completed the new classrooms underconstruction. We moved into them, and the old classrooms previously owned by the primary section were occupied by our juniors. We were the pioneers though, it was a new school, and now everything is almost okay during the last time I visited. |

Someone is there pocketing all funds for development of schools like this while his own children are in places way better off. How could one expect much from this kind of system? Good doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers and other professionals from such man-made squalor? |

And they have a governor who has a commissioner for Education. Both of them deserve to be in Kuje prison as inmates and also packing other inmates' poooooh. Their negligence of the education sector is deliberate and they should be severely punished. |

achemedez:It is not an issue of not having money or low educational budget but having what they want. If one is uneducated , he does not know the meaning of budget or allocation so their leaders can pocket it and donate some bags of rice during sallah to them, because they are now poor and uneducated , they can be easily used for riot when things are not going the way their leaders want. But if you educate them , you lose control over them just like what happened in kwara state , it was asset declaration that made them to know a bit little how much some of their leaders have, and it resulted to anger and stoneing.if not the leader pretends to be poor and donates rice and drinks to them on Fridays, which they will be very grateful and ready to die for him. former president jonathan built many schools in the north but they are either used for another thing or their leader will find a way to tell them that education is bad or that the school is built by an infidel while their own children are all schooling abroad In the lands of infidels. In the north you can be prosecuted for diverting money meant other developments but not for education, if you eat money meant for education nobody questions you.the whole northern leaders have agreed , education , we are not giving it to them. 1 Like |

The more uneducated they are the more easy it is to control them. Hence no education for them. |

hajhud:yes do you know the amount they spent on VVF? Because of child marriage if they should spend that money on education that school won't look like poultry. |
