Re: Pained Nigerians On Twitter Demand That Schools Owned By Churches Must Be Free by Nobody: 12:18pm On Oct 24, 2015
errm...

I won't agree to churches being free, but fees need be drastically slashed. You can't be collecting offerings and tithes from both the poor and the rich, then build schools only the rich can attend. It's abysmal in the least.

If these churches were made a non profit venture, I'm sure fees won't be as exorbitant.
Even if they can't reduce fees, they could come up with vertiable scholarship schemes for the poor but academically smart members of the church.

The so called missionaries schools of oldy days were not free, if they were, why did awolowo had to declare free education in the western region? History has it that he did because of the hardship he experienced while tution almost stopped him from getting education under the then mission schools. Those who had never in their lives given a kobo to the church find it easy to just rant against churches. They approved people paying 100k to watch comedians, but hated people giving offerings. One needs to critically examine facts before jumping to agree with popular views pls! It is demonic when people are happy to see musicians, comedians and actors making millions while expecting ministers of God to be in rags. Judas told Jesus not to allow a woman waste an expensive perfume on him, he argued that such should be sold and the proceeds use to help the poor, Jesus told him to allow the woman to continue pouring the perfume and the poor will always be on earth while He Christ won't always be.

No,it shouldn't be free. How would the church be able to pay both the teaching and non teaching staff their wages if they are were operating freely? Rather the school fees should be cheaper when compared to any other around.

most of them tweeters are just sayn bollocks. most of them av no idea the cost of starting an enterprise talk less of running the enterprise successfully. how much more a school or a university. just cos its owned by a church doesnt mean it should be free. how do u expect the university or school to function if its free? which money will they use to pay lecturers/teachers and non teaching staffs? or they want the money to fall from heaven? not all schools are established with the purpose of making profit as a business entity but with a higher purpose of being an entity with high standard, high educational quality, conducive learning environment etc. these things dont come cheap.
some people say the money of the poor was part of the investment of the some of these church owned schools, let me tell u God is a rewarder of those who serve him. do u knw d blessings in store for those who give unto God's work? its nt lyk they were forced or cajoled to give, its more lyk a sacrifice to God believing that God will give them much more than they give unto him.

I saw the name OPM and hissed.
It wasnt surprise to see one guy attacking Salvation Ministries schools.
OPM GO has been attacking David Ibiyeomie since 1759, but yet Ibiyeomie is waxing stronger and stronger and occupying everywhere that his feet touch. Taking territories. Someone should tell him that his mission and that of David Ibiyeomie is different.
He should face his own mission and leave Ibiyeomie to his.
The facilities in his schools can't be compared to that of Chokmah. Chokmah has world class facilities that runs into millions.
A receptionist in Chokmah earned over 100 +
Teachers there have staff bus and quarter with steady power supply, Internet and security while some of the teachers have officiall cars.
Security men there earned close to 60k.
He should stop being a hypocrite and face the assignment God has given him.
Your light won't glow brighter if you blow off someone else light. David Ibiyeomie

Church Funds Might be used to setup a school but it would be impossible for church funds to maintain a High Standard school over the years. The school needs to become self sustainable.

The Government subsidises education (which is crappy by the way), hence the ability of most of us to afford them. If you truly want to pay for education, it's not cheap.

When you factor in money spent on cleaning theses schools, supply electricity, security, subscribing to journals and supplying water, you'll appreciate the fact that these schools are properly priced.

I haven't even mentioned salaries of lecturers
