The compound word "Gentleman" has been soiled and spoiled by most ladies, especially ours.

Whenever a lady calls one a gentleman there's a need to be worried and have a reflection of their disposition in dealing with her. Like the OP rightly pointed out a gentleman is a stooge and one they can control and manipulate to do their bidding always.
