Few days after insurgents laid siege in Maiduguri and Yola, leaving dozens dead and 96 injured, President Muhammadu Buhari has concluded plans to depart Abuja on Tuesday, October 27 for New Delhi, India to participate in the 3rd India-Africa Socio-cultural Summit.

This was confirmed in a statement issued in Abuja by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina, stating the summit would afford Nigeria the opportunity of integrating its culture with that of India.

Buhari had earlier insisted that suicide bombings may not end by December, saying desperate actions like detonation of Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, are expected to go beyond the deadline given to the Military for the eradication of insurgents.

With palpable tension now on the rise over heightened attacks from insurgents on major towns like Kuje and Nyanya in Abuja, Maiduguri, Yola in Borno and Adamawa respectively, Buhari has decided to pursue a 4-day cultural relationship with India leaving Nigerians in fear and apprehension.
