It seems Edo State is now the new target for exploitation by the Northern Cabal. Reports flying in show that T.Y Danjuma nominated Osagie Ehanire as Minister representing Edo State. Osagie Ehanire is the elder brother of Daisy Danjuma (nee Ehanire) and his nomination is the General’s way of settling the family of his wife for their love and loyalty to him.

Danjuma cannot totally be blamed for this as citizens do not have to cast their votes for Ministerial positions. You serve as a Minister purely on the prerogative of the President. On the other hand, Aliko Dangote has also sworn to impose his protégé- Godwin Obaseki as the Governor of Edo State.

Aliko Dangote intends to use this as a way of expanding his business interest by easy acquisition of lands in Edo State so as to promote his business empire and also to gain access to the State’s treasury.

This means Edo State treasury will now be funding business interest of Godwin Obaseki and Aliko Dangote. You will recall Aliko Dangote recently opened some cement companies overseas including Cape Verde.

Will Edo State continue to be a milking ground? Are the indigenes of Edo State unaware of these plans to continually install stooges to positions of power? Time will tell as we approach 2016!
