DECENTRALIZATION OF POWER States that have the capacity to generate their own electricity should be allowed to keep the megawatts to themselves. States like Niger state and gas producing states should be allowed by law to sell their excess electricity This will encourage investment in the power sector as well as boost the states IGR Anything outside of this , stands a slim chance to succeed. ]mynd44, obinoscopy, lalasticala, Jarus, Sagamite, tonyebarcanista, omenka, obiageli, berem, cramjones, coe4eva, whitetechnology, Ola6, Rossike, Truckpusher, Babyosisi, collynzo23, theassassin, jmaine, idumuose, Sunnybobo3, joehannibal, BlackTechnology, LeOstrich, OLADD, biafranqueen, Jmaine, Jamace, Atlwireless, Anonimi, Sunnybobo, Customized13, Opiaoku, Petrov10, gramci, Taharqa, Iamodenigbo, Arysexy, Descartes, Gh0stFreak, Shizzlestar, ujoinme, rozayx5, omenka, egift, caseless, ngeneukwenu, cleverly, Obiagelli, Berem, Iligunboy, ilungunboy, Donphilopus, Keneking, Mogidi, Barcarnista, Obiagelli, Demdem, GenBuhari, Kelsoft, Donphilopus, Koboko69, Arresa, Caseless, Gbawe, michaelsokoto, gbawe, abagworo, OrlandoOwoh, jomoh, Arewafederation, Soroptimist, Pendy79, Neenar, Desola, MizMyColi, Horus, Whitecat007, Lakpalakpa, ShehuAba, Rawani, Tribaleast, Olaaderin, Nduchucks, Lacasa, Omerta, Ilugunboy, Naptu2, Aussie, Joseph1013, Olayinka8793, MalcoImX, PassingShot, mayoroflagos, shymexx, chukwudi44, wombraiders, mudraker, bishopjuice, ghostfacekiller, chiefjusticefuk. firefire, datolee, bloodykiller, ichidodo, ratiken, dozzybaba, phockphockman, longeria, anonimi, titaljharem, aryzgreat, publisher, brownlord, iconize, rigarmortis, Descartes, Ikenna351, Afam4eva, maclatunji, Ngwakwe, OAM4J, pointb, pazienza, OKDNigeria, stebell, brokenTV, longeria, rozayx5, IKJ66, swtdrms, ilugunboy, Mogidi, Elslim, bitterleafsoup[/quote] 2 Likes 1 Share |

@Op, which countries are using the model you just suggested? Also, what are the economic, technical and environmental benefits of your supposed model? Electricity supply should meet the essential goals of accessibility, affordability, economic drive and environmental protection. How does your model stand to achieve these goals? What is needed in the power sector is not just a temporary measure that will serve the interest of few people. We need a robust model that is sustainable and will be useful in the far future. Remember, there is a strong correlation between power and GDP. We really need to get the power sector right in order to stimulate our economy. |

Will our insecure states and people agree to such brilliant idea? Also the idea of medium sized power generation units shld be explored. Fashola who is a lawyer appears to understand what's going on better than some technical people oh. |

Oz4realsss: Copy copy no good This ideal will help many states and their private sector partners invest seriously in the power sector A state like Enugu will take coal powered electricity serious Solar , wind and Biogas plants will spring up in the North and middle belt. So my son think out of the box |

This will boost the IGR of investor states and localize GENCOs and DISCOs for efficiency. That won't be far fro BRF's policies anyway, as that has been practiced in Lagos state. |
