You that is insulting people are the one that does not have the minimum requisite understanding of the constitution; for starters, the constitution did not '..says there must be 36 ministers' as erroneously been touted by you.

Secondly, the constitution states...

1. Section 147(1) Mandates the President to establish "office of the Minister" of the Government of the Federation....
2. Section 147(2) indicates that the Senate shall confirm any appointment to the "office of the Minister of the Government"
3. Section 147(3) states that any appointment under section 147(2) above must be done in such a way that, at least one Minister is appointed from each State.

If you read the language of the constitution, it appear to state that, if section 147(3), which is state requirement is not met, then any appointment made under section 147(2) is invalid.

So, yes the constitution mandates the President to at least create 36 Ministries and appoint at least one Minister to these offices from one state. If the President, go ahead and appoint ministers from certain states and ignore other states, those states have the right to sue the President, because that is a clear violation of the constitution.

It appear that, the constitution want each and every state to benefit from holding a federal ministerial level office. And the President cannot fault the economy for been the reason to violate the constitution.

I have also attached a link to the constitution below for your edification...

Complete trash

This typically how u fail exam! You start with a premise then somersault the conclusion.

Constitution says that there must be 36 ministers, because each state must produce a minister.
It however did not say there must be 36 ministries. Infact there is no mention on ministries there. Its not hard to understand. So stop typing trash!

This government like drama too much

They can shrink the ministries to 18 if they want and have 2 ministers per ministry

1 minister and 1 minister of state per ministry

They can also shrink it to 24 with some ministries having 2 ministers and some others having 1

There is no need for sensationalism!

Confirmed Olodo!

There must be at least 36 federal ministries or federal department and all 36 ministers must be appointed to a federal ministry or federal department...constitutionally the President can not decide not to assign portfolio to any of the 36 ministers, they must all have a portfolio, else the President is in violation of the constitution.

Prior Presidents had the same issue, they had to assign the remaining ministers to federal departments or create two ministries under the same federal department e.g. Under Jonathan, Olusegun Aganga of Edo State was Minister of Finance while, Aderemi Babalola of Oyo state was Minister of State for Finance, you will notice the same pattern as well under Obasanjo and Yar'Adua. So, other Presidents faced the same problem and had to make things work out without violating the constitution by denying some Ministers a federal portfolio as Buhari has stated he will do.

Bubu the dullard! Tot ur heart was made of steel but now you appoint Ministers without portfolio despite the mouthy talk of cutting down the cost of governance. Same "six and halve a dozen" Until there is devolution of powers and Abuja becomes less attractive, corruption will swallow any and every "sighted" CHANGE!
