Ekiti APC rejects Minister of Solid Minerals
•As Fayose congratulates Fayemi, tasks him on Ekiti
.Consequent upon the portfolio given the former Ekiti State governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, as Minister of Solid Minerals,
Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has spontaneously kicked against the offer.
In another development, the state governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for considering Dr. Fayemi as Minister of Solid
Minerals.
He also congratulated Dr. Fayemi on his new appointment and charged him to use his office for commercial exploit of the mineral resources deposited in the state.
However, the street of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital was this evening filled up with aggrieved members of the APC, saying the party has nothing to gain in Ministry of Solid
Minerals given to Fayemi.
Gbenga Adebayo, who spoke with news men on the street said, the party's expectations have been dashed with the
"ugly appointment".He said: "Even though Dr. Fayemi has flair for natural resources and tourism, that has nothing to do with our common interest.
"Fayemi was not given appointment, if anyone cares to know. The appointment belongs to us, Ekiti State chapter of
the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Speaking with another party stalwart from Emure-Ekiti on phone, she lamented that despite the contributions made by Dr. Fayemi before, during and after the presidential election, she never believed he (Fayemi) could be cheaply treated like
that.
She however pleaded with the aggrieved youths to allow peace to reign, saying the party's interest should be respected along that of the president.
She said: "It has come and gone. But the president can later reshuffle the cabinet to provide better offer for Fayemi as he
considered Fashola and Amaechi of Lagos and Rivers States respectively for juicy portfolios.
"Fashola has never done anything worthwhile than our man here from Ekiti in the last presidential electioneering
campaign.
"It will therefore amount to marginalization if Fashola could be given Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Amaechi as
Minister of Transportation, and Fayemi, a man who headed the strategy unit of the campaign to be given Minister of Solid Minerals. What is that all about?" She queried.
