Yes, in other countries of the world, people study courses like:

Social Media & Business Intelligence (BI) - Check Brunel University, UK. We have many Nigerians studying these emerging courses over there.

Others: Social BI, Data Mining & BI, just to mention a few.

Can you specifically name one Nigerian indigenous company or ONE University whose major is on Social Media? Absolutely none! All you will find here is voluminous and ambiguous courses with little or no relevance to real life issues. The only closely related course you will find in Nigeria is the ambiguous Computer Science, and may be Statistics.


@OP, Nigerian youths do NOT know ANYTHING about SOCIAL MEDIA. Chatting all day on WhatsApp does not stands as a proof.

Let me ask you 3 Social Media Questions:

1. How can you apply UGC to the development of Bills in the Senate House? UGC is a social media term indicating User Generated Content

2. IBM successfully applied Social Media in the development of its KM (Knowledge Management) strategy. Do you think the Nigerian Senate being a public sector organisation, can record the same success rate, if a similar strategy is adopted?

3. How do you deal with privacy and reputational issues on the Social Media?





If you can answer this successfully, then you deserve a managerial position in LinkedIn or Facebook.

Sharing unclad photos on WhatsApp is not an evidence that one knows the rudiments. Allow the Senate breath; as long as Money is not embezzled in the process, let Facebook do the job.
