The Chief Executive Officer, NECCI Limited, a public
relations firm, Mrs. Nkechi Ali-Balogun, has frowned at
President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to shake hands
with his female ministers after their swearing-in.
She said: “It is unethical in public relations because it
portrayed the female ministers as inferior in eyes of the general public.

“If Hillary Clinton (US presidential hopeful and former Secretary of State) is to visit Nigeria today, will our President refuse to shake hands with her in the name of religion? “If you are working for the President, you must be able to advise him in such a way that he will know that your advice is due to the office you holding which you must do with boldness in such a way that the President will earn the respect of the public.

“An expert in public relations should have told him that it is unethical even before the congratulatory hand shake which he gave to the male ministers. A public relations person must not be scared to tell him what will boost the President image and acceptability to the public”.

Cry to high heaven, the president doesn't care. He is the "always right" in his own eyes and in the eyes of his zombies. Everybody will soon start wailing. Fuel in my area is already N200 per litre in his just six months in power.

It means our female ministers re muslims

That thought did cross my mind but I felt a need to fact-check, first, before drawing any hard and fast conclusions.

***EDITED for completeness

I am not sure about Kemi Adesosun (that light-weight minister, who seems as incorruptible as Stella Oduah tongue) but the others are clearly muslims.

TheNewsDotNG:

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari swore 36 ministers into his cabinet on Wednesday, ending a five-month wait for Africa’s most populous nation. And it seems that the former military ruler has embraced democratic tenets that will give room for female participation in his government.

Kemi Adeosun, the Minister of Finance

One of the first surprise appointment was that of the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun. Though she was the commissioner of finance in south-western Ogun State, many believed she lacks the experience to handle the finance portfolio of Africa’s biggest economy. She is one of the youngest ministers in the cabinet.

Aisha Abubakar, the Minister of State, Trade, Industry & Investment

Aisha , a technocrat and international banker was picked to be Minister of State, Trade, Industry & Investment by President Muhammadu Buhari. She was described as a role model to the rising intellectual women who struggled daily on gender equality in the predominantly conservative Northern state of Sokoto. Aisha is daughter of former permanent secretary and Finance Minister Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji and current Sardauna of Sokoto.

Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, the Minister of Women Affairs
Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan is a Nigerian politician who is a Senator representing Taraba North constituency of Taraba State, which she won under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). She later decamped to the main opposition party All Progressive Congress (APC) and became the Gubernatorial Candidate of Taraba State for the 2015 general elections. She was defeated in the election re-run held on 25th of April 2015, but on 7 November 2015 tribunal removes Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku, declares Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress winner of April 11, 2015 poll.

Hajia Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, the Minister of State Budget and National Planning
Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed is the Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).Until her appointment Mrs. Ahmed was a Member of the National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG) of NEITI and the former Managing Director, Kaduna Industrial and Finance Company. She holds a degree in Accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Masters in Business Administration. Mrs. Zainab Ahmed is a member of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria and Fellow, Institute of Certified Company Commercial Accountants of Nigeria among other professional organisations.

Amina Mohammed, the Minister for Environment
Amina J. Mohammed, an indigene of Yobe State in Northern Nigeria, is the Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Post-2015 Development Planning. Ms. Mohammed was previously Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on the Millennium Development Goals after serving three Presidents over a period of six years. In 2005 she was charged with the coordination of the debt relief funds ($1 billion per annum) towards the achievement of Millennium Development Goals in Nigeria. From 2002-2005, Ms. Mohammed served as coordinator of the Task Force on Gender and Education for the United Nations Millennium Project.

It's because most of the female ministers are Muslim. Simple.

Of the 6 female ministers, 5 are from the North.

There is nothing wrong with Buhari shaking women, but as married muslim women it's an issue to shake hands with another man.

President Buhari was simply observing this fact.

Buhari seems confused about everything including his religion. Today he shakes women tomorrow he remembers he's an Islamic fanatic and refuses to shake them. Olodo president.

All those leaders you mentioned shake hands with female/male foreign reps.
Only hypocrites have a problem with that.

Even Saudi Arabia's leader shakes hands with Hilary
when she was the secretary of state.

There is no point seeking a position that you know will compromise
your faith.
Steer clear of government if you do not believe in the equality of
Nigerians regardless of their gender.

Is "hand shake" a priority of all the mirage of problem holding the country down, sentiment and hatred is shredding some people's brain apart, as every micro step carried out by Buhari is an opportunty to make insensitive remark
