It is undisputable that the bulk of the money that have been spent in developing Nigeria have come from the ND.

ND is not landlocked and blessed with natural coast lines. It makes no sense that essential commodities needed in the ND are brought in through Apapa, Lagos. It is such a shame that the ND people after having their ancestral lands ravaged to feed the nation must line up and wait for Lagos port, this is crazy.

It is only fair and just for Nigeria to use oyel money to build a deep seaport in the ND and create policies that will make that seaport truly functional like Lagos.

How can a country as big as Nigeria depend on only Lagos for importation?

The government is spending billions from oyel money searching for oyel in the north but cannot build just one deep seaport at Ibaka in Akwa Ibom state. What is going on?? Government come, government go and we keep hearing Ibaka but no action. This is very unfair to a region that habours the resources with which the entire nation is fed every monthly.

Let there be fairness and equity in this our Nigeria please oo.

Please read through my OP again. I mean seaports functioning like Apapa or close to it.

Policies should be created to move some importation traffic to the ND, they deserve it.

Thats one of the failures of Jonathan. Simply decongest Lagos and increase economic activities at Warri and Port Harcourt..

We have been saying that Lagos is overpopulated, Lagos is congested but the government has refused to create the enabling environment and policies that will decongest Lagos.

Why can't there be policies that will make it mandatory to import certain type of goods through like a PH?

What is delaying the construction of Ibaka?

op you are right, it is rather unfortunate that there is no seaport in the entire nigerdelta. even the onemy gov planned to build in akwa-ibom has been dropped.

You don't need policies you need political will. Lagos decided the Apapa wharf is crowded and they decided to build one at Lekki same thing with building an airport.
This is one of the reasons why I think the Biafran apologist are jokers.
What stops the states in the SE and SS from pulling funds together to build a functional seaport and airport?

Even if you pull all the funds in heaven and earth, if the Federal Senate and HOR do not approve of it you are wasting your time. That's why interstate roads are called.Federal road. The Abokkis are majority in those chambers and will simply connive with sw senators who wouldn't like lagos ports to lose it's 'monopoly' status.

The Biafrans have come to understand these issues, that's why we think you are the biggest joker for thinking Biafrans are jokers.

Talkers will talk while doers will do.
What has the senate/ house of rep got to do with building a seaport?
You only need federal approval via the NPA and a SS man was President for the last 5 years.
Please find another excuse.

You're very correct. The ND esp PH needs to build a seaport that will function to "full" capacity. This is injustice and it must stop with immediate effect. We have fed this nation for too long and our lands have been depleted, it is only fair that we for once reap the benefits of our own harvest.

Amaechi is minister of transportation now, he has the power to that but will he??

This is just it. The injustice in the system is just too much.

How can all of us queue up at Apapa for what? Policies should be made to divert a lot of importation to the ND waterline, this will help improve the economy of the region.

It is because of unfairness like this that there is no peace in Nigeria. This is the marginalisation I have been talking about.
