Kogi Election. Aftermath Of Inconclusive Election by Adewummy007: 7:50pm On Nov 24, 2015
I officially sympathise with the good citizens of Nigeria and specifically the indigenes/natives and settlers/residents of Kogi state. Sunday November 22 year 2015 was a day Nigerians expected to hear the news of who will govern confluence state for another four years but when INEC declared the election inconclusive, many things unfolded and some are still unfolding among was the unfortunate death of the leading aspirant in the election. It was sad but man proposes and God disposes.
After the official announcement of the dead of Prince Audu a lot of controversies emerged concerning the election and the constitution. Many constitutional lawyers and political analysts began to quote sections of the constitution but none of the sections fit into the case that occurred. The constitution provided solution to a scenario in which an aspirant was elected and yet to be sworn in but no section provided a solution to an aspirant who died before or during an election.
Today INEC released an official statement for the concerned political party (APC) to substitute the deceased and this generated a lot of political debate.
1. Some want the deputy to become the governorship aspirant but he was nominated and not elected. Unconstitutional for a governorship aspirant.
2. Some want the runner up of Kogi state APC primaries to emerged the governorship aspirant but he might not have emerged runner up in primaries if Prince Audu did not contest.
3. Some want a fresh primaries and this is the best option but will new aspirants be allow, will they sell new nomination form e.t.c.
4. Opposition want cancellation of the election. Reason was that the vote was casted for Prince Audu and not for the substituting candidate.

INEC want to transfer Prince Audu votes which is same as APC votes to another person.
Do electorates vote for individual?
Do electorates vote for political party?
Assuming the election was successful all these would not arise.
