MR. PRESIDENT SACK DANZIL KENTEBE AND SAVE NIGERIAN (LOCAL) CONTENT NOW!!!

APPOINTMENT OF MR. DANZIL KENTEBE AS EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF NIGERIAN CONTENT DEVELOPENT AND MONITARING BOARD (NCDMB) IS A TOTAL DISSERVICE TO NIGERIA CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

Mr. DanzilKentebe is a gross misfit as Executive Secretary of Nigeria Content Development and Monitory Board; of all the blunders made by the immediate past President of Nigeria, His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan, most of the appointments done in his last days ranked as gruesome and terrible blunders as they were obviously done in a rush and anxiety.

The sudden death of Nigeria Content Development Monitory Board (NCDMB), on assumption of office by Mr. DanzilKentebe, who is obviously a square peg in a round hole, has dealt a deadly blow on local players in Oil and Gas Industry, we must state that in the absence of the Petroleum Industry Act, Nigeria Content became the consolation! But with an Executive Secretary like Mr. Kentebe all hopes will slowly die off.

Mr. DanzilKentebe is not only a misfit in the Nigeria Content Board, but also a very weak administrator with little or no experience, but was opportune due to compensatory and nepotistic reasons, for which we take strong exception.

The world must know that as soon as Mr. DanzilKentebe took office, indigenous participation in the Oil and Gas sector reduced to less than 1%, and there is no likelihood that it will improve under his watch.Prior to his inception, Nigerians were happy that Local Human resources were increasingly being utilized in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The current trend is that jobs which are naturally meant for local players are now being handled by foreigners and the monitory worth, being constantly exported out of Nigeria thereby institutionalizing hardship in our region and the nation in general.

We had previously petitioned Mr. President on some of the issues raised and had demanded for the sack of Mr. DanzilKintebe for a more responsive and productive person to replace him. If we truly want change in the country, then there has to be rapid sacking of unmerited and unwarranted appointees and conduct a selection based on merit and ability.

Mr. DanzilKentebe, has successfully abandoned all the lofty ideas of the Pioneer Executive Secretary, which were designed to create thousands of employment and improve local production and participation, rather he now encourages importation. It is obvious that the Local Content Act will turn into a “Paper Tiger” Should Mr. Kenteberemain in office.

In view of the above and especially in the overall interest of our dear Country, we have taken serious steps to mobilize groups and associations affiliated to our organization to stage a massive “Kentebe Must Go” campaign as we are yet to get response from Mr. President over our petition. The said protest shall be in Yenogoa, around the premises of the Nigeria Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB) immediately after the Governorship Election in the State, where we hope to send a clear message.
