So Gov. Udom Emmanuel's PDP government in Akwa Ibom State is planning to use political associations and groups in the state to make money ahead of the forthcoming rerun elections? A recent directive from the Department of Political and Legislative Affairs wants political groups who had earlier paid N25,000 registration fee to be listed with the Bureau to renew their registration with another sum of N25,000, while new groups wishing to be registered for the first time are to pay N50,000. What a way to make money. This is indeed, a rude and crude way of making money from poor voters who will be expected to cast their votes for a robbing party in the forthcoming rerun. And who and what tells you that the groups will be willing to part with another hard earned money nor vote for a political party that did not and has never bothered to reward those who supported the party in the last general elections.
