cc: lalastica . All I can see is a long list of graduates produced by ABU and political offices they once held. Unfortunately this so-called wonderful record has transformed Nigeria to country one should be proud of. Nigeria is about 101 years old with virtually nothing to show for it. Graduate ko, Degraduate ni! Graduate under my foot. |

It is a great school but is known for tribalism! wrote post Ume exam in 2008 and got 71 but was not admitted because I was not from the north. Northerners get 50, and they get admission. So sad! |

Your list for Ministers, Governors, Academicians, etc, are not exhaustive as we have so many of them not mentioned in your list. as far as the North is concerned, ABU graduates usually contribute over 60% of Federal Appointees from the region.

Alot of the people you mentioned are politicians. It is even more funny to mention first ladies among these people.
The question is, how many of these alumni have gone on ahead to be a big and powerful entreprenuer? How many of the scientists have gone on ahead to become some of the most renouned in their field? How many writers have the university had? These are the things i think we should be looking at.
I respect schools like Unilag more than i would ABU. The reason is, they have been able to produce citizens that have gone on ahead to build a whole new industry from absolutely nothing to something. I am talking about the entertainment industry. Some of the most renouned entertainers in Nigeria are from that school and their contribution to the industry is worthy of note. Although, we all tend not to give entertainment its true recognition, but the truth is, our entertainment industry have been able to at least, change the perception of Nigeria abroad. While the ABU graduates/politicians have been able to drag this country's name in the mud by their corrupt acts, the entertainment industry have given Nigeria a positive image abroad. With it, we are have been able to project culture around the world especially the continent of Africa. Only two other countries have been able to project culture as much as we have done. The US and India. Guess who are some of the people in the entertainment industry who've been able to do this for us? Unilag alumni! 1 Like |
