When people ask what church I attend, I tell them, “my parents are Catholics.” I didn’t choose to be a Christian. I found “them” practicing Catholicism and just like that, they involved me. If I consider baptism, it’s more like an initiation. (The dictionary defines ‘Initiation’ as a form of ceremony by which a person is introduced into any society; mode of entrance into an organised body; especially the rite of admission into a secret society or order). If I were born in China, I would have been a Buddhist. In all my life, the worst people I’ve met are “Very Religious” Christians. I’m not being vituperative. I almost vomited when this “Brother-in-the-Lord” told me that it was okay to have sex with whom you are dating but masturbation is sinful in the eyes of the Lord. One married man wanted to have sex with me. He IS a strong man in his church. I went to rectify an issue I had with my line (He works in a telecoms firm). “Uncle” and I were now gisting o. At the time, the anti Same-Sex Marriage Bill was the talk in Nigeria. I told him that for a country grappling serious issues, an individual’s sexuality was a trivial issue. Trust my sharp-mouth, I calmly told him, “Adultery is a sin.” The next thing he said was, “It doesn’t matter. God understands.” That was the moment I gave up on him. Whenever he called, I didn’t bother answering. Another dude I know said something that made me want to cry for him. I told him if he were born in India, he would have been a Hinduist. Probably he’d have been prejudiced towards people who practiced Christianity or Islam. He told me, “I’m lucky to be a Christian.” I asked him, “God is going to condemn non-Christians to hell?” He didn’t have any reply. If I gist you about my experience with Christian sisters, you would puke on your phone or your i-pad. Whatever device you are reading this with. Ha! Why all these evils, now? The most amazing people I’ve met are free thinkers and Muslims. At a point, I was tempted to convert to Islam. Now, let me go to the reason why I even started writing this in the first place. Jesu! Some people are not even getting my point o. See, ehn... the impetus of this article is this: 1. No sin is greater than the other 2. We should not be judgmental of people because their sins are greater than the ours 3. Anyone should be allowed to do whatever suits them. Like I tell people, "Whatever floats your boat is okay so long it doesn't sink another person's boat" 4. God loves everyone whatever religion they practice. The Qur'an says Almighty God could have made everyone practice the same religion but he didn't do that. He has a reason. 5. Jesus in John 4: 24 said God is a spirit and we must worship him in truth and in spirit because he lives in your heart. An individual's personal relationship with God is no one's business. "We're all going to hell" means that we are all sinners in need of God's mercy. And taking this into cognizance, we should not denigrate other sinners. That is what this article is about. If you still don't get it, well... By the way, these people that are religious are doing it because of eternity. Not because they want to be helpful to humanity. Have you thought of where to spend the eternity after spending 120 years or more on earth, depending on how long you want to live on planet earth. The truth is that after spending couple of years on earth, one must cross over. It is either through rapture or death. Eternity consists of hell and heaven. As for me and my entire household, we are heaven conscious because earth is temporal while eternity is permanent. Make Your choice. My mum was watching TV today and she looked up to heaven and said if i were God i would have killed almost everybody on eath. I replied that is one of reasons you are not. More so, do you know ma that some people even with this situation still call God a murderer she opened her mouth in surprise, she looked heaven and tears were dropping in her eyes, i pretended as i didnt see her and brought another topic. TRULY IF WE DONT WANT TO GO HELL FIRE WHERE DO WE WANT? |

No matter how you look at it, true Christianity is not easy at all but it remains the true religion. Thats why the devil fights endlessly and is less concerned about other religion. But Christianity, true and sincere, is very difficult. |
