Hello Nairaland family,

Going through my email this morning, I saw a message from 'Zenith Bank' saying 'BVN Don't Match Records'.

Now this set alarms off for the following reasons

1. GRAMMAR: The use of English in the email was outrageous. Zenith Bank will not send emails with blunderous grammatical errors like these (see attached pictures). The email was riddled with them.


2. EMAIL ADDRESS OF SENDER: 'almehwar@qatar.net.qa' is OBVIOUSLY NOT a Zenith Bank email. Whenever you get an email from any bank (even yours), please check the SENDER ADDRESS (Ignore the Title given). Usually bank emails go like - info/support@bankname.com.

Actually, Zenith Bank's official email is - zenithdirect@zenithbank.com so anything short of this is a SCAM!

3. I DON'T use Zenith Bank.

Finally people, please be alert and vigilant with what you click online. There are so many other modi operandum of these internet fraudsters so ensure you shine your eyes before you click!

As an afterthought, if these guys are looking for people's BVN, I suspect that anyone can gain access to an account through it so be cautious with your BVN!
