Its that time again. Its Saturday, 5th December,2015.The much anticipated election governorship polls in the oil rich Bayelsa state is here.
The political gladiators have sharpened their knives lying in wait to prey on the electorates. Its been a looong preparation and it seems the political parties, their candidates, the law enforcement agencies, the media, other interest groups and most importantly, the masses are ready to go to the polls.

It is still a horse race between the sitting Governor, Rt.Hon Seriake Dickson of the PDP and Chief Timipre Sylva of the APC.however the political miscalculations cum mistakes of the two aforementioned may be in favour of the vibrant 35 year old candidate,Siloko Moses Siasia of the PDM, who is pulling more weight by the hour.
This thread shall be for all persons on ground in Bayelsa to report first hand pictures, clips and figures of what transpires in the polling units and voting centers.
This thread as also serve as the eyes and ears of Nigerian as it regards this all important election.

WE ARE WATCHING!!!

Bayelsa Election: Six Guber Candidates Step Down For Sylva

In less than 48 hours to the Bayelsa state gubernatorial election, six governorship candidates contesting on the platform of other renowned political parties have stepped down for the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timipre Sylva.

Channels Television reports that this was observed on Thursday, December 3, in Yenagoa, the state capital as the chairman of the Labour Party, Hope Democratic Party (HDP), Alliance for Democracy (AD), Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD) and the United Democratic Party (UDP) all gave their mandate to the former governor of the state.

Explaining why they threw their weights behind the candidacy of Sylva, they said their decision was propelled by their love for the state.

According to them, it was imperative at this time to have a leader that has the people at heart, hence listen to their cravings and better their lives.

The chairmen further pleaded with Bayelsa people to cast their vote for the APC candidate and realize the long dream of prosperity in the state.

As usual with Nigerian style of politics, there have been series of allegations and counter allegations in the build up to the governorship election slated for December 5. On Wednesday, December 2, Olisa Metuh, spokesperson of the PDP, at a news conference in Abuja said members had been instructed to defend their votes as APC plan to rig the election.

The PDP had also accused APC of plans to arrest some of its members with strong and influential electoral support base to destabilize the electioneering process.

Meanwhile, the suit filed by the PDP challenging the eligibility of Sylva to run in the forthcoming election had suffered set back as the court adjourned till January 2016 for further hearing. The adjournment is obviously a bitter pill for the PDP to swallow as it allows the APC flag bearer to contest the state’s gubernatorial election.

Lolz @sammyj. You actually conveyed partly the feelings of voters here in Bayelsa especially Yenagoa. They believe it is a situation of between the devil and the deep blue sea. This frustration is now monetized.

If Siloko Siasia had started on time or was carried on the wings of "political big heads", by now he would be enjoying the helpless situation on ground.

From all indications, APC and PDP would go head to head, the winner would take the day by a small Margin. It's a case of two evils, but unlike Kogi where Audu achieved a lot in his first term, it's hard to say what Silva achieved in his first term, apart from increasing the crime rate, and empowering thugs.
Most of the Voters in that state only know how to thumb print for the umbrella of PDP. After a careful analysis and looking at things on ground, I think Silva would come very close, but Dickson would win.
