As a passed through Ojuelegba this afternoon i realised Nigeria is indeed a cursed nation. How can we have a fire incident in front of the Federal Fire Service Station at Ojuelegba and yet the fire could not be controlled? Several houses close to the canal were completely burnt down, cars parked under the bridge were burnt completely as well. What a shame, the controller or the head of the fire service should resign with immediate effect.

There is a huge traffic right now at that end all because nothing is working in this country.

My sincere condolence goes to the people affected.

Most of the fire engines have been in a static position for donkey years to the best of my knowledge.

Plenty non functioning agency in our country and they still get paid like the paramilitaries. No supervision, no discipline because there will always be excuse of one thing or the other.

According to the full story I heard, the so called fire service officers opened the tank of the tanker so the fuel will flow through the canal to prevent it frm exploding in front of OandO filling station there buh they forgot to takke preventive measure knowing fully well that water and fuel do not mix, while it was flowing somebody threw a finished cigar into the canal and the rest was history!

May God help this country, somebody need to take responsibility for the careless action.
