Fourteen minutes later, Johnson raced into acres of space on the right side of the field and slotted home the third goal past Manuel Neuer. From Goal And that will do it from the Etihad! City manufacture another comeback to secure the victory they need to battle for top spot in Group D. They held up their end of the bargain, and in the other match in this section, Sevilla defeated Juventus 1-0 to reshuffle the standings on the last matchday! Group D finishes with City first and Juve second. Sevilla drop into the Europa League, while Gladbach exit Europe altogether after collapsing in the second-half. Big congrats to the Sevilla team. The Europa league back to back champions had it tough in the group. It looked as if they were out after the 4-2 demolition of Sevilla by Monchengladbach. Their win against Juventus qualifies them for the Europa and the back to back defending champions goes back to a tournament they have dominated for two seasons. My heart goes to the mighty fighting Monchengladbach. They put up a good fight. They will feel sad going out like this but they will be back next season. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
