Nigeria Insists MTN Must Pay $3.9BN Fine By Dec 31 Despite Court Action by silentpath2007: 12:46pm On Dec 22, 2015 |
Nigeria will not hesitate to slap its largest telecommunications company MTN with an additional fine if it fails to pay the $3.9 billion due by Dec. 31. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had imposed an initial $5.2 billion fine on Johannesburg, South Africa-headquartered MTN, for failing to meet a deadline to disconnect 5.1 million unregistered subscribers.
