Professor Itse Sagay has attracted the ire of former president Goodluck Jonathan over his statement that Jonathan should confess his involvement in the deal before he is arrested.
Sagay recently expressed his dismay at the level of corruption that took place during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan and has advised the former president to have a chat with President Muhammadu Buhari and confess all he knows.
But Jonathan in response to the calls for him to confess has faulted Sagay for acting contrary to the decorum expected of a learned scholar.
According to The Sun, the former president in a statement issued by Abubakar Sulaiman, his former minister of national planning stated that Sagay, who is the chairman of the presidential advisory committee on corruption, as a respected learned scholar ought to know that you “don’t hang a suspect on the pages of newspaper or via social media until he or she is found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction”.
There have been calls for the probe of Goodluck Jonathan following the arrest of the immediate past national security adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) over the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal.
Recently, a former political adviser to the ex-president , Ahmed Gulak stated that his former boss cannot escape culpability for over the $2.1 billion arms deal fund.
Still on corruption probe, a senior advocate of Nigeria and Lagos based human right lawyer, Femi Falana has also mandated the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to commence investigation into the alleged diversion of $500 million of the $4 billion recovered from the family of the late military head of state, General Sani Abacha.

Professor Itse Sagay should first learn to engage his brain before his mouth. He speaks because that's the safest direction to speak and look good. If he loves this country, he should speak-out concerning fuel scarcity, worsening value for our naira, public servicemen pouring out lies without respect for Nigerians and the enormous hardship our beloved citizens are going through as a sacrifice for what they assumed.

Hw rather prefer the probing of mama peace(the real ex president of Nigeria). So that she can educate us more on grammar.

Prof Sagay had been talking anyhow. What he is set to achieve is yet unclear.

On reading his profile, I hailed Prof. Sagay after his appointment,. However he's never lived up to expectations. He now talks irrationally and carries out only media criticism of corrupt politicians (which is what the APC is only good at).

Is Prof. Sagay blind towards the present happenings in the country? Is he blind towards the long fuel queues? Is he blind towards the depreciating naira against the dollar (meanwhile #1 is now equal to £401)? What about Sen. President. Saraki's corruption case that was on, and is now being swept under the carpet, why hasn't Prof called for his arrest and prosecution?

The man should just let GEJ be.
