Brigadier-General Babafemi Ogundipe should be recognized as a former head of Nigerian government since he was the most Senior military officer after the assassination of Gen AGUIYI Ironsi. Gen. Ogundipe took charge for few days before he eventually conceded the power to Yakubu Gowon. Is it because he is Yoruba and a southerner? I am surprised that Gen Ogundipe's role as the head of the machinery of government was always kept away and twisted in history like the Orizu case.Ogundipe and Orizu should both be recognized and accorded their full rights. |
