Nigeria is not the giant of Africa, and I doubt it has ever being. I think this word was just adopted by the founding fathers to create a sense of hope and objectivity to Nigerians who seek it.

To become a giant, you need to the powerful: militarily, economically, and politically. Nigeria's Military is not as powerful as many may think, they hardly have military theorists that have documented the ideal strategy of war, operational arts, military tactics, or otherwise. Meanwhile, Nigeria does not manufacture any military equipment/vehicles of it's own. Therefore, we have no might.

Economically: Nigeria fails to establish institutions that would generate revenue to expand its purpose across the globe, neither does it advocate any economic model that could challenge the failing free market capitalist system. The true masters in the Nigerian Economy are the banks, and they do not support industrialization, they only seek to frustrate the emerging entrepreneurs with "crude interest rates", which itself bankrupts an economy.

Political: Nigeria have succeeded in its political agenda in making it democratic, however, bureaucracy is the right definition for the political system in Nigeria, for one party emerges again as the true masters, oppositions are eloquent in their speeches, but most oppositions do not have a proper methodology in seeking to challenge the masters "PDP", what they often do after losing fate in the deluded democracy is either to join the ruling party known to be active participants in the "rigging" of elections, or withdraw from any political party to remain independent.

It is no sweet-saying, Nigeria can never be a Giant if it lacks leaders that truly aspire to use its resources for the development of the people and it's institution. What we have in Nigeria are "sick, money worshipping, deficient rulers" who have no true purpose on what achievement really means, they are all thinking the west determines who shapes the world, when who they look to, have no true resource of its own, but created money in order to keep the wage slave in line.
