Just Imagine the billions they would be stealing this time..

All the robberies nd dumbing of dead bodies that happened at the last quarter of last year, yet the CCTV did not capture anything, maybe this current CCTV will be used to capture Ghost amongst us..

Typical Nigerian fashion.................IS THIS WHY WE HAVE HIGH RATE OF CRIME!!!! Why are we so daft! Do we have constant electricity to power this? I have an idea, why not:

Revamp the police force, hiring graduates etc
Train them properly and give them good uniforms and pay so they are PROUD to serve
Instill the knowlegde and up keep of the laws.

Just these 3 things will curb crime more than all the CCTVs.

Imagine, its like someone saying go buy me 100 bags of garri, I want to make garri for everyone, but what about the soup.....um Im coming, thats for later

Have all the CCTVs in the world installed. Without people with high intelligence and IT skills making good use of the feeds coming fron the cameras, the whole project is DOA(dead on arrival).

I agree with you , however , maybe they can use solar powered CCTV ....
sometimes dummy cctv can be useful , it deters the strongest criminals and pervert

This is a good step by the Governor, as community security is now far beyond policing(only) by riffles. One day we will get there. Kudos to Ambode.

Security via digital means goes deeper than mere CCTV installations..OK let's say a criminal is detected on live cam, what is the police's response time? Does the state have an existing database of residents? Does the database have a facial recognition, dental and fingerprint software?..these are few of the numerous questions that must have a positive answer before they think of these installations..unless na avenue to loot funds.
