Seriake Dickson, governor of Bayelsa state and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been returned as the Governor elect in the Bayelsa governorship election . After the first two days of voting on December 5 and 6, 2015, Dickson had polled 134,998 votes ahead of Timipre Sylva, his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had garnered 86 852 votes.
