While the FG tries to curb corruption competent hands should be employed to ensure the aviation sector becomes a big thing to the world. .The industry should be revamped to one that can massively employ all..aeronautical institutes should be strengthened and experienced Nigerians all around the world in the aero business and industry brought back...Instead of the FG crying that big headed ameachi should roll out his plans and lets all get down to business..but ofcourse NO...ameachi is busy holding Dakuku by the hand from one place to another so as to get a strong hold of rivers state...by the time this hypocritical administration is done with Nigerians we will all scream for help...

In my opinion, aviation is for the rich, government should privatize that sector and or concession out all the airports to foreign backed Nigerian businesses.

He added that since inception of the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, the country’s ideas and philosophies have changed while the dayswhen Government’s businesses were carried out by contractors and consultants,’ were gone.
I don't understand what this government is really thinking?
Are they suggesting communism or socialism?
Or is government going to do their business directly without consulting or giving the professionals to do?
Is the government keen on creating unemployment instead of employment
Is it preempting failure by crying out?
Ooooh!!! What a government.
Let's pray for our President and the country

She performed very well. I still remember our aviation industry got a good recommendation from IATA during her tenure. Our international airports(Lagos/abuja) may not appear as flashy as those of Dubai and Heathrow but I can tell u we can match em in terms of technical facilities in place which is to her credit. This present government Shud swallow their pride and seek for assistance from those who made key sectors of this country work during GEJ administration .

No we don't. Our technical capacity is manageable at best but not a part with other world class airport.

That said, if you have regularly used our airports in the past 25 years, you will agree they were better during Oduah's time.

Some people cant survive outside a strong central government that is involved in all things. You know those people.

Guy, it doesn't even make sense in the first place. How can a federal govt be involved in almost every sector in an economy? From mining to power generation (and even distribution), from the media (NTA) to even banking.
When has the govt ever being good at running anything? No wonder things hardly run well in naija. Almost everything the govt has tried to get involved with has either failed or being substandard: NNPC, Ajaokuta, electricity generation (NEPA), aviation. You would think they would have learnt their lesson by now.

The job of the govt should be to make things easier and conducive for business, provide national security, make sure that the rules and regulations are being followed and to get out of the way so that they don't become a hindrance to the private sector.
Haba! No wonder Naija is such a difficult place to run a business.

What baffles me is people expected GEJ to do all the things that wasn't done in the 50 years before that.
Very hypocritical. We saw many aviation ministers before Oduah.

To be objective, place their performances side by side & compare.

Yes from the perspective of a pilot, but whether it's commensurate with the amount spent is another debate.

sometimes whether this our leaders OK,,,aw can there be unemployment with all this sectors in Nigeria,,,,, Our leaders can't just look into matters or they are too lazy,,,,this aviation sector self is enough to create employment for youths and Nigerians, but instead they won't dig deep.

But you know over-inflation is a common thing not only in 9ja.

Even when I have someone do any project on my behalf, I expect up to 15% inflation. Sad but reality. I have been cheated with about 65% before. I found out & stopped the project.

With the rot in 9ja political offices, 30% kick back/inflation would be expected. As long as the work is actually done.

Not great, but better than siphoning all the money. cheesy grin

If you will not improve a place then do not destroy it.
Stella Oduah spent billions in destroying Port Harcourt International Airport - its now reckoned as one of the worst in the world where Canopies and Tarpaulin make up the arrival sections with no form of air-conditioning or Toilet facilities.
