ndlife: Don't you think this is kind of derogatory? It's a calculated attempt to slight the people of that divide. If you care to know, Ebute-meta has produced champions who are leaders of industries like the Tejuoshos, the Art- Alades, Denrele Edun, Jide Kosoko, Obafemi Martins, Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Musiliu Obanikoro, Adolphus Wabara just to mention a few. I attended elementary and secondary schools both in Ebute-meta, never wrote GCE, made my WAEC and got admitted to a federal university at one sitting, made excellent grades at the university and an enviable professional now. So........There's absolutely nothing wrong with Ebute-Meta schools. |

Harjaryi: The blame my dear still boils down to ineffectiveness of the school, I mean why approve for such book to be used in your school when it does not correspond to your curriculum or scheme of work? Your position as a teacher places you on a pedestal like a small god who oversees EVERYTHING in the class. If you observe that a particular text book did not .do justice to a certain topic, you may use two more books to aid your content or subject matter even if you won't make your students buy them, you could use that as teacher's copy. Teaching and learning these days have been so simplified that one is not unnecessarily tied to one crap book that is of little or no use |

That must be a private school, they are just distortting the children's brain in the name of teaching, nonsensense. There are jakande schools with trained teachers, no, they won't send their children there, Carol's children are private school so my children must go to private school without knowing that carol herself is igorant. Stop wasting money, send your children to public schools where they have trained teachers. |

Why are u blaming the teacher? The school provided the text book , and that is what is in the curriculum , I guess the subject is music, the teacher is only using the materials provided by the school , Parent should make proper enquiries before they register their wards in any school, there are so many mushroom schools around that make extra-curricular activities they priorities , sadly some parents even request for such services |

davidif: Dude, what are you even confused about? why not go to the sch to see their curriculum...and if you are not OK, withdraw your kids... instead of coming to the internet to display what l called inferiority complex.. those questions l guess are to test the kids cognitive... and you people are here blabbing blaming teachers... there must be a reason for such questions... please if you are not OK and can't go to the sch to ask why,who,what....that means you can do it on your own.. keep your kids at home and be the teacher.. |

placeofallure:yea you are right dear, there is nothing eye no go see for this Nigeria cus unemployment has created many potholes in some sector of the economy. So it give rooms for hungry author and hungry proprietors. 30% of those private schools, build a not to build the futureof Nigeria but as a way out from poverty and as a means of self employment, they don't mind the future of the little children they are teaching. And as for the teacher it is the school that make provision of all the textbook he is going to use. If he desist from using one they will ask him why, to which he has to give a tangible reason for his action, if they are not please with his reason, that may result in another thing . But the greatest problem lies with those hungry author and those hungry proprietors. Mind you, am neither a teacher nor a proprietor, am a programmer, so i don't ave any connection with schools. If thats how am taught i won't be where i am today. |
