How Will You Rate Buhari’s Administration So Far by obrien29(m): 9:33pm On Jan 29, 2016 |
On the 29th of May, 2015, President Buhari was sworn in as the president of Nigeria. To some Nigerians, he has done absolutely fine, while to others, he has not faired better than the past Nigerian leaders. On social media, there have been disagreements between the followers and antagonists of the administration. The antagonists have often found one mistake or another, and they have even labeled the administration a failure. Nevertheless, the administration is working hard to prove its critic wrong. In terms of corruption, the administration has probed the deals and activities of the last administrations especially in the area of security where billions of naira are said to have been embezzled. The administration through the EFCC machinery is trying to persecute corrupt officials and send a strong signal to all the corrupt officials in Nigeria. This is the only civilian administration that is willing to fight corruption. And with the probe of various sectors, huge amount of monies are being termed “diverted”. Nigeria is truly rich. There has been a slight reduction in the price of PMS. The administration has instilled fear into those who see the government has an avenue for amassing ill-gotten wealth. This anti-corruption war however has not improved Nigeria’s economy one-bit or Nigeria’s image in the international community. The ordinary Nigerian is suffering still, and the exchange rate of dollar is high, therefore, making importation difficult and expensive. The government claims it has subdued Boko Haram, but there are still bombing here and there, though it is minimal unlike before. The government has so far shown that it cannot fully respect court orders. There has been unwarranted arrests and detention of suspects without evidence; the suspects are only charged after arrests. There has been loss of lives of innocent peaceful protesters and believers of doctrine, and this shows no care for the value of human lives. The economy of the nation is falling apart, and although it is a world wide problem, the government needs to do something about this bad economy. The government has not acted poorly really. However, the administration needs to work harder to meet the demands of the citizens who voted them in. So how will you rate Buhari’s administration? Good, bad, great, mediocre? Rate it over 10. Although Buhari has performed below expectation but I'll rate him 72%. This is largely due to the misappropriation of funds by the Ebele Jonathan government. If not for PMB, nobody would know that PDP have killuminated us in the name of fresh air & was only waiting to bury us with TAN. If Buhari should contest again, I'd vote him without batting an eyelid - Nagode! 1 Like 1 Share |

Far bellow average. No clear cut economic policy, exchnge rate of naira-$ is nothing to write home about, playing prank with our budget, denying their campaign promises etc. What is always on the news: How former ministers stole $100trillion. How PDP misrule Nigeria since indepence. How Jonathan mismanaged our resources since amalgamation. How PDP members bought the entire midle east. How buhari had to borrow money to fuel and maintain his official car because jonathan swept the entire tresury. How the fear of buhari improve power suply even without investing a dime in the power sector. How Allison-madueke own 100 oil wells in her bedroom. How Okonjo-Iweala hijack the money ment to service the budget for the whole year. How Nigeria sold crude oil for $500/barrel under Jonathan and now $1/barrel under Buhari. How Buhari must travle round the whole countryies of the world before getting down to business. |

nothing to write home about. I want to assess this government based on the PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE They like to blame all our problems on their version of our selective past but they forget that not too long ago Buhari truncated democracy, destroyed the economy and set Nigeria on the path of 20years retrogression, so if we want to blame the past then Buhari takes a large share of the blame. We can not pick and choose which version of our PAST to refer to! well lets look at the PRESENT. In the end Buhari will be judged on whether he bettered the country he met and regardless of the propaganda the facts show Nigeria has been worse off since Buhari came in. Their response to our economic challenges brought about by falling oil prices has been a failure and every financial analyst around the globe agree that the Nigerian economic response is foolish. It was not too long ago this country effectively tackled ebola a very deadly disease but now "lassa fever" a weaker dissease has killed more than 10 times the amount of Nigerians ebola killed. The overbearing nature of Buhari is also destroying institutions of state, from security agencies to the judiciary to the independence of the legislature to the independence of the CBN. Name them! all of the gains of the last 16years to strengthen institution is being destroyed under Dictator Buhari. In terms of the FUTURE there is no clear roadmap to progress so regardless of how you want to look at it whether the PAST, PRESENT or FUTURE. Buhari has failed! 1 Like |
