Three suspected armed robbers were on Friday morning burnt to death at Orunu village in Ofu local government area of Kogi, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports. It was gathered that the armed suspects blocked the Orunu-Idah road junction and were about to commence their operation, when youths of the community who were disgusted with their nefarious activities, emerged from different directions, seized three of the suspected armed robbers beat and set them ablaze, while two others escaped into the bush.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer ASP Williams Aya, said that the police had recovered the remains of the three suspected robbers and released them to their relations for burial. He added that though no arrest had been made, the police are investigating the incident.
