The President and his party came up with the "broke" jingle as a means to convince the IMF to finance their ludicrous, extravagant white elephant projects this year. Remember PTF, and the refineries built in the eighties. The President is a master of corruption and money laundering. This is always his gimmick. But unfortunately for him, his plans were leaked to the opposition and some influential elements in our society. This led to a secret meeting in Stockholm, between some Nigerians, some top western media hotshots and some members of the IMF. In this meeting, the plans of the President backed by verifiable documents and files was laid bare to the foreign attendants of this meeting. Consequently, the truth was made known to the IMF chief, who immediately canceled the discreet and hidden loan application by our government. This is the reason for the EFCC clampdown on the government's perceived enemies, under the guise of corruption. Also the review of the fictitious budget, was brought about by this. We are in trouble.
Remember when I said this. I stated right on this forum, that the government had gone through the back door to acquire a loan from the IMF and worldbank. Their illicit and discreetly insincere plans were leaked to the head of the IMF, Christine Laguarde, who immediately swung into action, by denying the Nigerian government that deceitful offer. She even went a step further to warn without mincing words, the implication of going ahead with any attempt of soliciting a loan without paying adherence to the nation's current poor financial state. But after all the words and advice, the wicked and illiterate government of APC have gone ahead to play the f0ol by rejecting sound advice. Even the stup1d ex president, OBJ, has warned against preceding with this madness. Well when the chickens come home to roost, the nation should hold accountable the likes of the useless good for nothing Finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, the APC chairman, John Oyegun, the vice president, Osinbanjo, and most importantly the m0ron we call our president, PMB. A word is enough for the wise.

The finance minister claims that borrowing from many sources would help keep the interests paid to our creditors at a low rate and give us enough time to pay back, at our own convenience. Have you ever heard such a silly excuse. How is a man who owns money to many creditors wiser than a man with just one creditor.

Himwazaka you were right, how else explains the financial times article written yesterday presented below:

https://next.ft.com/content/2a30c096-c8e9-11e5-be0b-b7ece4e953a0

Title of article:
Nigeria calls in the World Bank to do the IMF’s job
The fund is the agency that should lead the response to the crisis

Why avoid the person responsible and go to someone else's shop undecided

I had wanted to create a tread for that but then you can include that article in your arguments

To be sincere, I wasn't aware of this article. it is a good eyeopener. If we don't talk now, this government will fooli5hly destroy this country.

They are already fargone on that path, since the day they decided to run the country without a cabinet for 5 months. To be fair there were challenges, but that approach by Mr President (and of course cheered on by supporters) saw a lot of things go wrong.

Mean while, how can we give this thread a wider readership seeing that there is one on the frontpage explaining the means of funding while there is an allegation that the country is securing funding from the "wrong" channels.

That is what u get when u have a president who doesn't get it, and a neophyte finance minister. By the time they finish their term in 2019, nigerians will be in a hurry to send them out of Aso Rock. We are on a long thing of chanji, fraud and error! God help naija!

Yes oh why are they avoiding the IMF and headed out to the world bank. While Lagarde is saying Nigeria doesn't eed loans and we clapped, few weeks after we prepare go to their sister institution to convince them on why we need loans especially this argument of several creditors.

Are we not credit worthy before the IMF? Are their rates unfavourable? Clearly the article has pointed out that they are better suited to respond to our request so what's the rationale behind going there instead. The same Akinwumi Adesina they villified is the one they want to borrow from a few months down the line. Very soon we will find them seeking for aid at Okonjo Iweala's Gavi.

It will soon be 2017 and election season starts then u will know that Buhari never won withh 100% but 52% and d slimmest margin ever. Only a 3% shift will sweep him out of Aso Rock. I can bet you, more than that will shift and already shifting. Keep your belief and watch the real thing!

what we are trying to do is put the country back together.

easy to destroy, difficult to build.
