We hear people ask: when will the youths have the opportunity to rule our nation. The answer is simple: as soon as they are ready.
Prof. Soyinka reminded us lately that very young people got the independence for the nation, men in their 20s and 30s.
The soldiers who countered the 1966 coup were in their 20s and 30s. Namely: obasanjo, babangida, abacha, Buhari, danjuma, yaradua, gowon, hassan katsina etc.
These youths had little education, poorly experienced and lacked the requisite exposure to lead a complex nation like ours.
Little wonder we started our life as a nation with a coup 6yrs after independence, a counter coup to follow shortly and the a civil war, then tribal wars, then religious war, now terrorism, economic wars and the wars are looming even harder from several unknown quaters.
Problems created by the same men who have insisted they must and are the only ones to solve them, in the process, the problems don't get solved but rather become hydra headed and eat deeper into the fabrics of our nation like cancer.
The question echos again: when will the youths come to power? The poorly trained youths who seized power in 1966 are yet to relinguish it to the enlightened and well trained youths of today.
Power like it has always been is never given, it is taken!
Taken by a revolution or taken by constructive mothodologies of political manoeuvres, and the good youths must strive to out shine the bad ones in this power play, by coming out of their hiding places and taking their firm stance in national issues. Revolution if bloody is no longer fashionable. We need intellectual and peaceful collaborations
We have moved in a vicious circle of political poverty since independence, With the presidency moving from one of the 1966 coup plotters and counter coup plotters to the other.
Gowon to obasanjo, obasanjo to Buhari, Buhari to babangida, babangida to abacha, abacha to obasanjo, obasanjo to yar aradua, yaradua to Buhari. Jonathan was an accident.
Which nation succeeds this way.
I challenge us the good youths to join politics today, form little groups in our communities and begin to educate people. It is an urgent task to rescue our nation.
Build up an alter of prayer for the deliverance of this nation.
If you are preoccupied with what to eat and drink and you make all the money you need, remember it would cost one ignorant man very little to get a bullet and knock u off.

Our economy and political land scale has mortgage and box youths of this generation to a corner. How can you explain peanuts given by politicians to youth will motivate someone to do thuggery and kill his fellows youths.poverty, hunger and unemployment is a brain behind these negative vices. The politicians are aware of this and they continue purposely to allow this trend to continue. Thus having their way whenever they want to.Great youth of Nigeria.Stand up,reject their Greek offer and demand for your right and freedom.

Yep... See people were dying for the return of democracy from men in khaki who knew nothing except how to lock up people. Now the same ones , OBJ, GMB are again coming back and people can't reason.

If this is the case then Gowon should have been named king because all the Redeemed goers and mosque flockers can't think like their counterparts in worse situations had done (i.e. French Revolution)
