An anonymous court official who spoke to said the case was reassigned from Justice Gabriel Kolawole to John Tsoho, both of the Federal High Court.

The official said the case was reassigned because new judges were admitted to the Federal High Court.

“You know, new judges came and they reassigned some many cases. Like that of Dokpesi has been reassigned to court 3,” the court official said.

A further confirmation with the court clerk at court three showed that the federal government’s case against Dokpesi’s is listed as number one on court three’s cause list.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart is already in court with one of his sons, other family members and associates.

He is standing trial on a six-count charge of money laundering and other fraud related charges.

Dokpesi was arrested by the EFCC on Tuesday, December 1, for being a party of the arms purchase scandal involving Dasuki, former National Security Adviser (NSA).

He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on December 10, 2015.

He is alleged to have about N2.1billion from the office of the NSA for 2015 PDP’s ‎presidential media campaign.‎

The media mogul is facing trial ‎alongside ‎his firm, DAAR Investment and Holdings Ltd, owners of African Independent Television, AIT, and Raypower FM.
