Arik can not be the only airline available in Nigeria, you need healthy competition to keep prices low and improve service and quality.

The other airlines serving Nigerians have tons on Nigerian workers, they pay taxes too including the airlines. Squeeze them out and watch them lay off Nigerian workers and eventually stop operations and cancel Nigerian routes.

This is the sad and double edge side of buy only Nigeria and misguided patriotism..

This is 2016 and Nigeria is not Rome back in ooooBC.

Stop the silly and irrelevant analogy.

Don't recollect Rome getting built with misguided and warped sense in the first place.

Nigerians are employed by the other airlines too and they deserve to feed their families to.

Let's focus on the message which is buy naija to grow the naira...That is the important message now.

And I'm saying every investments and economic activity that employes, pay Nigerians, pay taxes that contributes to our economy are equally important.

Buying Nigeria or flying Nigeria should not be a one size fits all policy and mantra. You are endangering and sabotaging countless Nigerian workers and destabilising their ability to feed their families..

Robbing Peter ro pay Paul is never a good thing or sane common sense.

So buying naija made goods is threatening and destabilizing Nigerian workers from feeding their family? Seriously? How did China become a world power today if they didn't focus on solely their own products?..Please stop being sentimental about this issue, we need to patronize our made in naija goods to improve the economy.

Airlines in Nigerian regardless where they are from are legitimate investments in Nigeria with countless Nigerian workers so why freeze them out and render Nigerian workers jobless. Makes zero sense and grossly counter productive

Procter and gamble is the world's largest consumer goods manufacturer and they have 3 manufacturing plants in Nigeria with thousands of workers, vendors, market women selling their products, drivers driving r their trucks, advertisers , accountants, lawyers and so on they hire and pay ...so when you say buy Nigerian only, exactly what are you talking about. ? Nigerian only entities built by Nigerians only or entities from outside Nigeria, but with legitimate investments in Nigeria with tons of Nigerian workers?

Every sector of our economy is saturated with foreign investments and millions of Nigerian workers.

So where is the sense and wisdom is asking for investments and investors to create jobs and grow your economy while at and same time saying you won't patronize them. Do you think they are fools? Why even invest in your country if it means total loss for them?

Nigeria is not china and this is 2016.

China reversed engineered products, tools, machines, cars and everything from the west to get to where they are today and not just because they closed their doors. Even today, to set up any major business in china, you have to establish or do the manufacturing in china. Boeing is selling tons of planes to china, but china stipulated that Boeing must build and manufacture the planes in china, that means Boeing have to spend millions of dollars to build a plane manufacturing plant in China, its called technology transfer.

This is how you transfer technology, this is how you advance, this is how you attain self sufficiency and this is what China did and still doing today.

China is still stealing technology via economic espionage. What are we doing in Nigeria? Making noise on twitter.

Common pencil, Nigeria can not make and you are yelling buy Nigeria only.

Even worthless toothpick you still import.

This buy Nigerian thing is pointless and meaningless until you are able to formulate a national road map to attain technology transfer needed to fabricate machines, engines, heavy and industrial plastic moulding, things that allows you to manufacture countless products on your own, like manufacturing almost everything needed to manufacture a whole car with little or no foreing components.

Spend money and upgrade Innoson, to manufacture and supply all kinds of breaks on a large scale, put funds behind another company to manufacture something else on a large scale to attain self sufficiency and so on.

If you have to do reverse engineering or steal the technology like china did, then do it.

This is not about crying buy Nigeria only, it's more about how we go about full scale industrialization, how we structure investments and local input requirements, putting sovereign funds behind serious companies to obtain technology needed to advance construction, manufacturing, farming, IT and so on.

Why do you think china is buying major western companies? To obtain technology. Period.

We are not going anywhere until we formulate sound and workable industrialization policies and how to get there.

What we need is a national road map and not meaningless noise making on Twitter. The Twitter senator should be on the Senate floor or consulting with his colleagues how to formulate a strong national industrialization policy.

Showing me how to farm is not enough, show me how to make the heavy duty and industrialized farm tractors, harvesters, high tech farming and storage system and so on is what I need. We need to be manufacturing high grade machinery, electronic parts and components.

Again, the twitter senator should go to the senate floor or brainstorm with his colleagues per how to attain industrialization? How to reframe our economic and investment policies, how to include or increase the percentage of local content in everything manufactured in Nigeria which forces any company doing business in Nigeria to manufacture many or all components in Nigeria.

Asking Nigerians to buy Nigerian goods while the same government officials who are asking us to buy Nigeria sits on their hands and not formulating any economic or industrialization policies to move us forward is pointless, abdication, gutless, ignorant and irresponsible.
