Most institutions set their cutoff way higher, 180 is just the minimum cutoff mark any institution can possibly set. Meaning any institutions(Private or not) that set their cutoff point to say 179 would be penalized(Probably). For courses like Medicine, Law the cutoff point is way above 200. Learn to read and comprehend.

Unilag has the highest cut off mark and the hardest uni in Nigeria to gain admission into.

If I were in power, I would scrap JAMB, because I don't see any reasons for it. The only good thing in Jamb is its employees who are being paid salaries. WAEC and NECO should be sanitized, so that those who pass them can enter higher institutions straight, subject to the institutions own tests.

Such institutions like JAMB don't exist in sane countries. Those who place their hope and future in this redundant institution should explore many other ways to go to higher institutions without it.

Naira lander still remain ungrateful, some of una wey pass the jamb get 400 na malpractice o, this one na online exam.. Anything wey u write in the next 30mins ur result go show.. Na dia u see some of una way they talk for hia, if only u sit down write chem or phy without u talking to anyone, u go understand why they bring d mark down to 180

180 is really a poor cut-off. It was an attempt to boost university admissions but it is just leading 'olodo rabata' jambites. Even the pass rate for the WAEC examination was 38%. A lot of these youths won't get into university this year.

That's not true. Don't forget that the university will still conduct their exams and 50% of their score is added to 50% of jamb score.

180 is the minimum mark but most schools will increase theirs beyond 180. Don't be surprise to see cut off @ 280

Jamb registration is about 8k (not sure) 8k × 1.5million is wat dem made, jamb using Nigerian youth to make money. I still insist govt sud scrap jamb n allow only post ume.
