Bold step? Taaaaaaa! Comot here

In as much I like the fact that he is chasing his dream and passion, I see no reason why he should drop school.

being a graduate of a university will make him stand out.

it's not a good move I must say.

there is nothing stopping him from combining it with school work.

Wishing him the best sha.

but I want you to know that if you are a graduate and u are frying puff puff, u will be better off the other illiterate doing same.

Does school stop him from doing this? My cousin bro does this and he is a 400 level student studying fine art at O.A.U. He does better artworks and paintings than wat I am seeing upthere.

Very nice pieces of artwork.

His talent is divine and, he definitely shouldn't be leaving it at just that! With education, he can only get better! God has given him a purpose... He should keep shinning through cool

He's already in year three... He should just finish up and keep the cert. Who knows? He might just be needing that later on!

God bless you OP, for sharing this. I love artworks smiley

Nice works, but no matter what you achieve in life deep down in a corner of ur heart would keep pricking you cuz of the university degree. Even thou it's abandoned after graduating but you would know you have it relaxing somewhere and stand tall when people with degrees are being mentioned.

Wish him all the best thou but dropping out at 300L wasn't a wise decision in my humble opinion

If he dropped out of school for financial reasons, it understandable. But if it's to focus on art, I wouldn't have advised anyone to do that. Who says you can't earn a degree and still draw at the same time?

cool but also need to sharping his skill and art school will be very best for him.

you people tend to mistake the meaning of education.

education doesn't necessarily mean school! it is also a word for acquiring knowledge on different aspect of skills or profession.

sorry to say! that artwork still need a very long way to go.
your signature, shading, and the use of color is far less than perfect and you still need to go to school to perfect it.

education is also very vital and important.

art is dead.
who needs drawings when we all have cameras?
who buys music(CD PLATES OR CASSETTES) when there is mp3 and internet?

Exactly even if the certificate won't be used to work but having it alone will give you that peace of mind cuz deep down inside his heart would keep pricking him even after all the riches

Cool, though there's still room for improvement in terms of the 'cleanness' of the pencilling/Inking.

But since the Artist made it to 300 Level already, why didn't he just do the last '1 Year' and be done with his first degree which wouldn't have disturbed his Art? undecided

Who said you can't finish school and still stand out as an artist? I sense academic laziness rather than zeal to pursue your dreams.

How does going to school stop him from doing this?

AS HE WANTS TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR,IT IS A WASTE OF TIME HE WILL USE IN SEEKING,PARTICIPATING AND ORGANIZING ART EXHIBITIONS AND BE MAKING HIS MILLIONS.YOU DON'T NEED TOO MUCH EDUCATION TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR.EDUCATION IS SOMEHOW OVERRATED IN NIGERIA.

Bro, Brace up! Winter is coming Hard times are on their way.

For your information, there's more to Seun's drop out than Nairaland.

Try to learn Adobe Photoshop or Coreldraw.

I hope you won't regret your decision in the nearest future.

And who said school is compulsory?

It no news that unemployment is the bane of Nigeria population, and its equally no news that entrepreneurship is the most recommended solution to this problem. The surprising part is that most youth won't still explore their ability. An average Naija youth prefer to submit to that school that gives him Education Technology rather than Engineering which he initially applied for with the mind that "shebi Yoruba graduates are working in bank".

Well just like the Gates, zuckerberg and his likes, our own Seun Osewa stood up out of all odds and followed his passion. He withdrew from the school why some people might have carried rumors that he was expelled, now the school can relate with him as one of its alumnus.

Just like Seun, another Nigerian has out of all odds taken a bold step to his future, a 300level student of a Nigerian federal university withdrew to face his career, with the mind that the school will never teach him what he needs, thus its better he looks for it elsewhere, maybe through "personal development".

And so nairalanders... I present to you, a nairalander, one of us Jimmykozz. He left school to further his development on his passion which is artwork. My prayer is that it pays at the end just as it's paying for Seun presently and continuously

That your pics fine pass Buhari for real life

I will neva support dropping out esp wen the problem is not financially based.i know certificate/school may/not define your career path, but at least hold on to that.
At times when i look at myself,i cant help but be thankful to one of my lecturers advise.'if not anything, strive to hold your Bsc'.One can still school and do his thing.i hate it wen people compare themselves with others..for christ sake, you guys were created differently, therefore una destiny will never be the same.Go back to school&still do your thing.God will bless your hustle

I disagree. Ever heard of MichaelAngelo? Does Leonardo Da Vinci ring a bell? How about El Greco? Edward Hooper?

These are artists/painters that died long long time ago and most of their works have been lost in antiquity BUT, the ones people lay their hands on are being auctioned at ridiculous prices at exhibition centres in Europe and America! A particular MichaelAngelo's painting was sold for $6million in 2010. The same painting was put up for sale in Berlin last month... Biddings began at €7million. The winner won the bid at €9.2million.

Is it really dead? I don't think so.
