Afeez Hanafi and Gbenga Adeniji

The three abducted schoolgirls of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary in Ikorodu, Lagos, have been rescued by the police.

It was gathered that the schoolgirls were rescued in an overnight operation by the police while some of the kidnappers were arrested.
The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the rescue and arrests to our correspondent.

“Yes, the girls have been rescued safely by the police in an overnight operation. We also made some arrests,” she said.
The PPRO promised to get back to our correspondent with details of the operation.

The pupils, while studying in a classroom on Monday evening, were seized by gunmen numbering 15 and escaped through the school fence‎.

Somethig good coming from the Nigerian police in a long while. They be like if you pay the 20M Ransome, what will you people now use to bribe us when your next offence is commited. Maybe the army can even see this as an inspiration to rescue our chibok girls.

Thank God, they were rescued alive and some arrests made. One area nobody would like to comment on is, whether they were molested while in captivity. Nevertheless, I which to appreciate the efforts of our officers in this operation. Well done our gallant officers.
