President Buhari has approved the immediate unbundling of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, into seven independent operational units. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, made this known today March 8th. According to Kachiukwu, the new units are Upstream, Downstream, Gas & Power, Refineries, Ventures, Corporate Planning & Services and Finance and Accounts. He said each of the units would be headed by chief executive officers, namely Bello Rabiu for Upstream; Henry Ikem-Onih (downstream); Anibor Kragha (Refineries); Saudu Mohammed (Gas & Power), Babatunde Adeniran (Ventures), Isiaka Abdulrasaq Finance & Accounting and Isa Inuwa Executive Head, Corporate Planning and Services. Good move. Kachikwu to me is the best and most serious and result oriented person in the cabinet. He knows what's wrong with the oil sector. But on the other side, do they have the constitutional right "unbundle" the NNPC? |

Nice move PMB. Unfortunately some hate-filled agbarawas would only check d names of d appointees to see if someone from their village is there or not. Doesn't matter that they benefit absolutely nothing even if its someone from their ethnic group. They know themselves. Watch them start pouring out their 'painment' and frustration. I doubt if a lot of them have eaten well today |
