The Senate voted has against the Gender and Equal Opportunity Bill. The bill on Tuesday failed to pass second reading when it was put to vote at the sitting. Majority of the senators voted against the bill which seeks to promote equality, development and advancement of all persons in Nigeria. If the bill was passed, it would have guaranteed women’s freedom of movement, female economic activity and girls’ access to education. More details later. |
