How Lai Mohammed Subconsciously Revealed The Present Regime Is Confused. by luciomoggi(m): 11:21pm On Mar 16, 2016
While Alhaji Lai Mohammed is a perfect mouthpiece of the opposition the same cannot be said of his effectiveness as the mouthpiece of an incumbent government.
The main problem with Lai Mohammed is that he is a perfectionist in exaggeration and also talks too much , often divulging vital information in the process. At a certain period , when the country is passing through a hard time and the leaders need the citizens to remain calm and patient , Lai a Mohammed doesn't believe in such . To Lai Mohammed he would rather engage in the "blame game" trying to shift responsibility to another party maybe the former regime .

Ever since Lai Mohammed assumed office as the Minister of Information he has been seen in the past praising the new government for the improvement in the both power generation and distribution in the early days of the regime . Lai Mohamed told all who cared to know stories on how the President's body language , detailed analysis and impeccable records have made electricity become available to all unlike in the precious regime. Fast forward to 2016 when power distribution has fallen to a record low of 1500MW and the minister is at his best game again , blaming the last regime while forgetting he earlier attributed success to his boss. He also exaggerated that around $5.3b meant to fight insurgency in the North East was diverted for personal use by the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki, this is contrary to what the EFCC who are investigating the scam confirmed. The EFCC has always maintained it is $2b and one doesn't know where Lai Mohammed got his figures from. One could go on and on with the exaggerations of Lai Mohammed if time and space permitted. The main problem with such people with this negative skill of the information minister is that it will get to a point where no one including his immediate family members will take him serious as he will be known as the "poster man" for falsehood.

The real story in town is that again Lai Mohammed has finally subconsciously accepted that the present economic condition Nigerians have found themselves since the assumption of his boss as the president is presently out of the control of the president and his team, hence nothing the president can do to remedy the situation . Lai Mohammed was quoted to have said : "The fact that government is even still managing this situation , I give credit to the government, because the situation is completely beyond their control". This is disgraceful to have come from a serving minister of the federal republic. This clearly means that Lai Mohammed and the APC members have realised their is little or nothing they can do to save the same country that they have helped inflict hardship on it's citizens since assuming power. While it cannot be argued that the fall in the international price of crude oil has dropped to a record low from more than $100 per barrel in the previous regime to less than $35 in this present regime. But the question still remains why the president made astronomical campaign promises it knew before hand it couldn't fulfil. The fall in oil price wasn't drastic , rather it was gradual and even started it's fall in the last regime , hence the president knew first hand what to expect . It is also laughable that instead of devaluing the Naira as the Egyptian and Ghanian governments did to encourage exports and reduce the pressure on the Naira, rather Lai Mohammed and his boss are living in self denial , creating a national and parallel market for the exchange rate. This is like delaying the inevitable or day of doom as it will only spell more problems for the economy.

Though Lai Mohammed has recently tried to cover up his gaffe , by denying the reports . It is little too late as ThisDay, who he granted the interview have replayed it several times for all to see. Based on the above reasons , it is clear that both Lai Mohammed and his party have no clear cut plan for the country as it as become a harvest of sorrow and pain for Nigerians .

Nigerians must therefore wake up and stop relaxing , the present government must be held accountable for all their actions if we are to make headway in this difficult moment .
