Members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) are already forming queues behind former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of tomorrow’s meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Daily Trust on Sunday learnt yesterday.

Sources said the BoT meeting, scheduled to hold at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, would be used to elect both the chairman and secretary of the Board, which is an advisory body of elders and leaders considered as the conscience of the party.

A leader of the APC in Abia State and former National Chairman of the Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief Sam Nkire, had already declared his interest to become the secretary of the party’s BoT.

The latest development is an indication that the first interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, may no longer be in the APC BoT chairmanship contest.

The APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, confirmed tomorrow’s meeting last Monday after resuming from a 10-day working break.

After the emergence of the BoT chairman, a meeting of the party’s national caucus will follow on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.

Chief Odigie-Oyegun said the meeting of the APC National Executive Committee (NEC), which is the party’s highest decision making organ, will hold on Thursday, March 24, 2016.

Daily Trust on Sunday learnt that the need to fill vacant positions in the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) would be ratified at the NEC meeting.

The APC national chairman, who spoke with journalists at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, had said that all arrangements had been concluded to conduct congresses through which a substantive national publicity secretary to succeed Alhaji Lai Mohammed would emerge.

Even though both have weight of corruption allegations, Tinubu is far better than Atiku.

Tinubu who originally wanted to be vice president can't even garner enough support to be bot chairman, SMH!

I don't feel sorry for him though, the thief is getting what he deserve.

All in a bid to stay relevant? This is how the cookie crumbles. Both men have been reduced to fighting for crumbs under Buhari's table(what the heck is BoT chair?), while the latter enjoys at their expense. Junketting all over the globe holding perceived enemies to ransom.

How are the mighty fallen! Buhari really used these men.

This is gonna be interesting!

If Tinubu loses he will curse the day he was campaigning for Buhari when he was waving a broom up and down screaming ' certificate or no certicate Buhari is qualified as a former general' he will realise that his prognosis of Buhari in 2003 where he said 'Buhari is a destabilizing factor' holds sway.

I brought Buhari into this because Tinubu is getting the wrong side of the stick because Buhari is president where he seems to not have any say hence the likes of Atiku can also push him away like paper.

Atiku wants to consolidAte himself and as a former VP he will get enormous support.

But if Tinubu wins he will then have a foot in to atleast stair the party on some critical issues.

INEC/ APC constitution does not recognise Tinubus present position as National Leader of APC.

End of the road for Tinubu here in a party he fought tooth and nail to set up, thanks to the suggested merger of ACN and CPC by Patrick Utomi that gave birth to APC.....unfortunately that Party is about to be hijacked by the Funky Mallams..just watch out, Atiku will emerge as the BoT Chairman if this useless party and Tinubu eye go clear that Yorubas romance with Hausa-Fulanis always end up favouring Mallams while the "sophisticated Yorubas" get shortchanged. Shiit just got messier. Kai.....I pity Tinubu more now, he is about to be paid back in his own coin for what he did to Atiku when he was the Presidential Flagbearer for AC then.....

Tinubu deserves it! He successfully led the opposition that produced the Change government.

What has Atiku done other than being chosen by OBJ as VP and afterwards became stupendously rich using his money to influence things.
