CaptainECole: You Haven't Seen Anything Yet - If you have witness someone's head being chopped off, or 4 kids being burn for nothing. If you have had to dodge bullets from Arm robbers, who think sporadic shooting is same as robbing. If a soldier man who is supposed to protect you is now the one molesting you for using the same road with him...guy, u never chi chumching 9) Syria is small compared to Nigeria - when your siblings and parents have been massacred by herdsmen. When BH throws bom like ludo and blow themselves up like balloons, leading to mass dead...bros, experiencing these would make you retype these 7-things... 4 Likes |

Multiply the 7 reasons to remain in Nigeria by at least 10. That will give you reasons NOT to remain in Nigeria. The way I see things, remain wherever you feel most at peace, and be happy. Nigeria is not home to everyone. I would NOT be happy living in Nigeria, not even if I was a billionaire. There's more to life than money and power. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Siena:My point exactly...Infact you took the words out of my mouth. Nigeria is not home for everybody. Where ever you stay and you are happy and at peace, stay there. In advanced countries of the world you do not need to be a millionaire to live a decent life.In Nigeria one has to struggle to enjoy a decent lifestyle e.g providing your electricity, water etc I am still not convinced about the OP reasons to remain in Nigeria... Well whatever rocks your boat 2 Likes 1 Share |

I dont believe in living abroad permanently but i strongly believe in studying abroad. And we should study abroad for career opportunities, reputable degree, personal and professional development, new cultural experience, understanding humanity, learn new languages and build your life long network. For those who are interested in studying abroad in cheap top world ranking universities should visit www.facebook.com/harfordedu/ for full information and update |

I saw another discussion on the US students visa section debating about the same. At the end of the day this is a personal matter. I am a South Arican and I have been following nairaland for years now. As a black South African I get preference for employment and business deals. But this is all on paper (legislation). In reality I am doing the same job with a white person but they get twice as much as me. The economy is is still controlled by the whites. BEE business deals are for those with political connections. Racism is still alive and well in South Africa. So for those who talk about racism in the US etc, I just smile when I read your comments. I am still experiencing racism in my own country of birth. My friend from Zambia might think I am better off than her based on the little opportunities she has back in Zambia as compared to the opportunities I have in South Africa but the truth of the matter is that the so called black middle class in South Africa is living hand to mouth. Mortgage repayments, car repayments, [personal loans, credit cards, expensive school fees etc is what we work for. I guess for an average Nigerian when they think of living abroad these things are a turn off. But for me as a South African I am already living in that system so if I get an opprotunity to go to the US I would take it and not think twice. My opinion is that if you if you desire a comfortable life and a better standard of living, going abroad is the right decision. 2 Likes |
