Nigerian army said its troops have rescued 16 women abducted by Boko Haram elements in Adamawa state.

The women were abducted on the outskirts of the town on Wednesday when they went to fetch firewood and water.

Captain A.O Badare of the 28 Task Force Brigade in Mubi said the women, including two girls have been rescued.

Fadare that soldiers rescued the women while pursuing the insurgents.

Fadare, who did not give the number of the rescued women, however, said he was still trying to verify.

“I am still trying to verify from Madagali as you know, the operation is still on,” Fadare told the News Agency of Nigeria.

Nigeria will be great sooner than we expect .

At first sight, this sounds like good news and worthy of commendation. However, looking deeper, and knowing my country for who we are, there is more to this drama than meets the pages of blogs and news sites.
First it was the Phantom ''surrender' of Nigeria's most wanted man, then the kidnapping of 16 women, then we hear of their swift rescue. The military however failed to provide us with more info or pics to quench our skepticism. Did the BH abandon the captives, was there a shoot out, how many BH were captured or killed or wounded, was there an orderly agreement with the BH for their release or is this just another chest beating news-push that we have become accustomed to? All we're told is that "the military rescued them while pursuing the insurgents." Hmmmmm, you need to be a hard-core zombie to not ask for more answers.
