Keneking:Keep quiet! All what about the TSA was initiated by the former government, and it was deliberately carrying out the plan gradually not to have a negative effect as will are experiencing it now. The urge to claim the glory of the TSA by this present administration, resulted to a negative down slide of the economy. What is happening now is the buhari government going back to feed on his vomit. He is use to it now though. Taking on policy somersault, back fired on him. The 3.1 trillion, if it is injected back to the economy, the economy might bounce back but the fear now is more dubious entity are around the president and the goodwill of the government will not be feasible. |

plaetton: Was the economy flourishing and okonjo was borrowing money even while crude was selling at $58 per barrel? Are those symptoms of a flourishing economy? Your second and last paragraphs are just laughable. The private sector will become more virile when govt spends on needed infrastructures, power and a favourable govt policies. As for the corrupt system, it is obvious that the wheat is being separated from the chaff, if and only if you lot will cease to stop shouting witch-hunting. |

olutunde12: Yes, things were not like this 10months ago. The war has been taken to boko haram doorsteps for the first time in ages: they are being rooted out and their leader is calling for tactical submission. Corrupt people are accosted and being tried, things are gradually falling in place despite a short fall in our major forex earner. You guys act like fuel crises was never a random occurance in the last administration,. If this is how buhari is destroying the country, please let him continue destroying it. 2 Likes |

You are right they all are the same pdp, apc, lp, agba etc. They all play with our intelligence. Please don't forget that the TSA funds are generated from national institutions such as NNPC, mdg etc. Those monies are also needed to fund operations of those institutions. Thus the monies can't be used to fund other projects or policies whilst the main funding institutions suffer. Since the budget has being approved, they can go ahead to spend same and borrow to replace if necessary. Corruption is everywhere if people think this government is not corrupt, they are kidding. 4Play: |

MaziOmenuko: Well, I sure do hope I am wrong, but the body language of this regime suggest rudderlessness and ad-hocism for the next few quarters. I have not seen any economically sound measures started yet. A lot of talk, but no walk. |

Pidggin: When all d 3trn in d tsa acct disappears witout trace, that's robbery. But, those #50 n tax on communication tariffs are all govts way of adding to their income in replacement of crude earnings. Naija has one of d lowest tax rate in d whole world, d apc govt wants to change dat statistic- pay ur tax! Most foreign countries citizens pay as much as 40% of their earnings/income as tax, Nigerians pay no where near that, d apc govt is going to change all dat. |

MaziOmenuko: Lol. You people have been so misinformed about what TSA is. I don't know if it's even worth repeating. That N3tr had Always been in the economy until the government drained it out some months ago. In fact, the draining of such liquidity out of the banking system is partly to blame for putting the economy in a coma over the last six months or so. |
Re: Rays Of Hope For Economy As FG Fights Back With N3trn TSA Fund by ashjay001(m): 11:14am On Mar 29, 2016 |
4Play: TSA is simply revenue collected by MDAs and other income generating govt depts. Before d advent of d TSA, such money remains in numerous bank accts undeclared to FG. Perm secs, directors, ministers et al spend such funds on numerous fictitious projects( customs generate 1trn n yet bearly remit 1bn to FG), nowadays, every knows how much is available(3trn), to spend out of it, u need approval/bureaucracy and whatever u embark on is actually monitored, no more on paper projects. Now some, agencies get their budget sums, and still duplicate these spendings with the income they generate, such is no longer obtainable. To gain access to d TSA, it has to be spending not captured in ur FG budget, and not frivolous items. |

I don't see how government spending will end the dollar shortages ravaging the economy! It may compound it as the naira will depreciate heavily against the dollar in the parrallel market as Buhari has refused to accept any devaluation at the official market. I expect the naira to toouch 400 this year. Please note that expansionary spendings always leads to a depreciation of the currency. This is because the spending inflates the money in circulation. So, more naira will be chasing the same amount of dollars. Buhari must allow the naira to float. This will probably lead to a crash of the naira to 250 at the official rate but it will end the forex shortages and the black market rate will rise to around 255 which wont be bad. |

Emboldened by the N3trn stashed away in the TSA purse, the government has already announced it will immediately reflate the economy with about N350bn in payment to contractors and many say while this will be helpful in oiling the economy, concerns will still continue about how to expand productivity in the economy, so as not to push up inflation. What happened to the N3trn war chest? It's shocking how propaganda stories are released without follow up questions being asked by the people who bought the story initially. If the government had this N3trn stashed away - add it to the money generated through out 2016 - what happened to it? 2 Likes |
