Zambia can shock Nigeria in Uyo, says coach Wedson Nyirenda

The gaffer is delighted with his side's double over Algeria in the race to Russia 2018, and feels they can upset Gernot Rohr's men in Uyo

Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda believes his side can secure maximum points against Nigeria in next month's 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier in Uyo.

Chipolopolo completed back to back wins over Algeria to climb to the second spot with seven points in Group B.

And the gaffer insists they inch closer to their Russia 2018 dreams as he has shifted focus on conquering the Super Eagles who need a win to earn a qualification ticket.

“We managed to grab the six points. The team has done very well. We are getting closer to the dream,” Nyirenda told Caf website.

“The north Africans are not an easy side but the boys went on and fought for the six points. We will now focus on Nigeria. They are a good team and will desperately want a win.

“I have a big team that can pick a win [against Nigeria] and that is what I'm planning for."

The Sierra Leone boys have higher possession so far, Ezenwa is diving a good account of himself, can't say same for the rest of the team

A Nigerian team that just recently took part in 2-legged CHAN qualifiers. Who should have more momentum?

No need to defend them in advance. I will be happy if they beat Sierra Leone but I will also bring out my stick if they fail to do so. What is the standard of the Sierra-Leonean league that the NPFL cannot raise 11 players to beat them?

Siasia's boys landed 3 hours ahead of their first game in the last Olympics and they came all out flying. No excuses to beat Sierra Leone today.

U always kill me with this philosophy because someone else makes it through hell makes hell acceptable. No need to argue then because u are just searching for a reason to bash these guys.

ZAMBIA CAN SHOCK NIGERIA IN UYO, SAYS COACH WEDSON NYIRENDA

first and foremost don't give up common sense just because you want to be patriotic, thank you.

number two, Cameroon were the punching bags at the confederations cup, so the point about them being a strong team isn't true. the last time we met they collected three. Algeria just lost twice to Zambia, hardly the toughest opposition we have ever faced. now don get me wrong, these are strong teams in the African continent Nd we are doing a marvelous job bossing them in the group and the boys have been doing very well but the truth is that we ain't close yet, not at all. we need to keep improving, if that performance against Cameroon is our best then we need help and quick too. most of the people who started this argument with me later got the point and left, your headache I don't know.

Which players did the Spanish team have prior to that world cup in 98? this is their golden generation. as at then all our first team players were playing in top clubs, we had just won the Olympics two years earlier.
Raul,Spanish greatest striker of all time and the best striker in the world at that time('98/99)
Luis Enrique, one of the best midfielders of his time,
Zubizaretta, one of the Spanish greatest goalkeepers,
Hiero.
does this players ring bell to your ears?
