It is believed generally that the number twelve (12) signifies government. Don’t you think it is more than that? Here are reasons why the Number (12) must be given a deep thought.

1. It is no longer news that the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is all about the 12 Patriachs (Reuben et al., BC).

2. At the age of twelve (12), Jesus began his course in the synagogue speaking with wisdom and power amidst Doctors and teachers of the law.

3. The Disciples of Jesus were numbered 12, and when Judas died, he had to be replaced.

4. Twelve (12) months are in a year, why not 10 or 13?

5. Elijah gathered twelve stones when he wanted to command fire from heaven upon the Baal prophets.

6. The most popular game in the world today comprises a team of 12 – Football (11 players + 1 coach).

7 Revelation chapter 21 talks about the New Jerusalem having 12 gates.

8. Twelve (12) elders on the left and 12 on the right making a total of 24 elders are the ones in charge of worship of the Father.

9. The number twELve (12) itself has ‘EL’ as part of its makeup and all names that end with ‘EL’ denotes the affairs of God e.g MichaEL – who is like God, EmmanuEL (Jesus) – God with us, GabriEL, SamuEL, DaniEL, EzekiEL et al. all from the word ELohim meaning the Almighty.

10. Twelve (12) O’ clock signifies change in meridian. If it were to be 12 in the night – ante- meridian (A.M) and 12 in the afternoon; post meridian (P.M). Most religious activities start at night by 12.

Yea, and the number 6, because it is half of 12, and the number 4, because it is a 3rd of 12, and the number 3, because it is a quarter of 12, and the number 1, becuase it is a 12th of 12.
