Beyond talking about the problems leading to the fuel availability challenges, creative ideas are precursors of innovative solutions.

Kachikwu has made a good presentation and identified some major issues affecting petrol supply. I do hope politics and parochial interests will give way and allow this man pick his team and rework the petroleum sector.

If nothing else one can see real leadership qualities which are: Intelligence, Communication (very important), Articulate and clear speech, Ease of making points clear and giving a sense of belonging so it's not about the head but that everyone needs to pitch in at their level and own the fight.

It is said that when the head is rotten, the fish is as good as condemned. There is nothing that creates and maintains the presence of dumbness, ineptitude and lack of intelligence than slurred speech coupled with a bad accent that damages even basic pronunciation. That alone muddles the atmosphere of whatever message is to be passed.
Secondly, listeners don't want to strain themselves. A public speaker/leader needs to learn the art of public speaking and engagement, be creative in thinking outside the box and matching words with action. That way, he's taken seriously.

Again, leadership should never be about the perceptions and mindset of the leader. Brutish, dictatorial tendencies only turn most appointees and followers into zombies all in the bid to please the feudal lord while general needs remain unmet. A leader making it all about himself and creating the impression that he's the only upright n qualified one while others are dirty, corrupt or insignificant by his own myopic standards, creates even more problems for himself.

I can go on and on but the honest truth is Buhari just doesn't cut it as a qualified and effective leader for a diverse entity like Nigeria. In the military, yes, with the regimented lifestyle where every rule is in place to follow and enforce. Presidency however, is a completely different kettle of fish and Buhari is not quite there yet.

The only redeeming factor he may need to acquire is lose the need to make it all about himself and his infamous uprightness, appoint real professionals who are able and ready to roll out policies that work and finally, let them work! Most of his current appointees are mediocre at best so they happily roll over to please him in zombie-like manner. If mediocrity is not the problem of some, then placing them where they don't belong is yet another problem!

Frankly speaking, a leader has got to be easy on the ears! A leader doesn't whine and quarrel with tools handed him but rather fixes or replaces them where necessary and gets the job done! You're there because there are problems so always repeating those problems and wishing they weren't there is highly incompetent and does hurt the ears!
