Violence Has Erupted In The Gwagwalada Office Of The INEC by hitman2015: 3:22pm On Apr 10, 2016
Violence has erupted in the Gwagwalada office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the declaration of the chairmanship election as inconclusive by the chief collation officer, Adamu Tanimu said the election became inconclusive following cancellation of two polling units under Ibwa ward, which have a cumulative registered voters of 1881.
He had earlier given the scores of all the four participating parties, where APGA's candidate, Mustapha Adamu (Obama) recorded the highest number of 15, 272 votes.
Closest rival and incumbent chairman, Abubakar Jibrin of APC recorded 14, 546, with PDP having 6,082 votes.
The difference between APGA and APC, according to the collation officer stood at 726 votes.
However, he said, since the total number of cancelled votes has far exceeded the difference between the duo, a run-off election has to be conducted by the electoral umpire.
This prompted the APGA agent, Ibrahim Danbare to challenge the declaration, and immediately ordered for the hundreds of supporters, who spent night singing and dancing outside the INEC office to enter into the building.
And despite the presence of a combined military, police, Civil defence and other security outfits at the gate, the irate supporters overpowered them and made their way into the building.
They started vandalising cars and glasses, and began chasing everybody within the office with matchets, sticks and other weapons.
They chanted word like "it is impossible", "he (collation officer) won't leave" and other threatening words.

You can't declare a winner when the number of cancelled votes exceed the difference between the two leading candidate.

I expect idiots to come and cry buhari who is busy packing his load for China

Why is it that inec is quick to overlook any deficiency when an apc candidate wins but must consider the slightest irregularity to declare the election inconclusive when it doesn't favour apc.
This re-run being declared is to give the apc another chance to regroup and see if they can take it at second chance.
The result of the place where apc won had since been declared while places the pdp led are still 'unconfirmed results'.
Nigerians have lost hope in this govt's ability to get inec to conduct a free and fair election

The issue here is that INEC is inconsistent with there regulation for declaration of inconclusive election.

In Bayelsa, the margin with which the incumbent Gov. Dickson defeated Sylva was far less than the cancelled votes and he was declared winner. Same thin happened in several NASS reruns that took place recently.

INEC under Buhari is a joke, image conducting inconclusive election in 6 "LGA" in the back yard of their headquarters in Abuja.

Meanwhile the OSUN state assemble rerun conducted yesterday was also inconclusive.

INEC should ensure that proper security is maintained in their offices or better still, declare results inside Army barracks.
