The present day rivers state was created in the 1996,after many riverine(ijoid) communities were given out to form bayelsa state,and some upland communitie from east central states(south east) included to form our present day rivers state. Rivers state,"the treasure base of the nation" as we love to call our there state has faced many problems in the past under the then ijoid rule hence after the creation of bayelsa state,most riverians thought that peace and security has finally returned to rivers state but posterity proved us wrong...
