There is difference btw SL (Salary level) and GL (Grade level). As a HND/B.Sc holder, you are on GL8 and SL10.

Basically, d requirements for tax officer II on d aplication form is more of people with Accounting/Taxation background ooo...what of us dat studied sth different lik statistics...u know u guys will say w can still apply bt d point is we don't av der basic requirements as stated. I don't know weda someone understand m?

Boss...even if u av d basic bgrd, u wil stil b trained. Dats y u went 2 skul..2 b able 2 adapt 2 new environment.

For those of us that are confused as to which category to apply for, here is the breakdown


for category 1, salary level 08

Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in government, international organization or private firm

membership in any of the following accountancy bodies

1. Institute of chartered accountant of nigeria (ICAN)
2. Association of certificate and corporate accountants (ACCA)
3. Chartered institute of public finance and accountants (CIPFA)
4. Society of Incorporate Accountants and Auditors (SIAA)
5. Institute of cost and management Accountants (ICMA) UK
6. Chartered institute of taxation of nigeria (CITN)
7. Institute of chartered accountants of whales or England (ACA)
8. Chartered of public Accountants (CPA) .


Category 2, Salary level 09

Minimum of 3 years experience in the same agency as above

Membership of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) or related professional body
Msc in taxation or similar discipline

Category 3, salary level 10

Bsc, HND or degree equivalent in taxation or related course
post qualification cognate experience will just an added advantage .....

So by this illustration, I bliv the most suitable category for fresh graduate and inexperienced is Category 3

You can try Ur luck and apply BT I will advise you to get anoda certificate since it was obviously stated dat liaison will not b accepted.

You don't need certificate of origin in the application process but certainly would much later, however, just use this time to make arrangement on how you can get it, instead of staying idle, hoping that they accept the one from liaison office that you have, because they stated it clearly, and if u default, it will be outright removal. people are already too much so they remove you at the slightest opportunity they have.
